As Thanksgiving approaches, we find ourselves navigating a complex and challenging global landscape. One hundred and one hostages remain in Gaza, young Israeli soldiers continue to be killed and injured on the frontlines, Jews were assaulted in the streets of Amsterdam, a Chabad Rabbi was murdered in the UAE, and the ICC has labeled Israeli leaders as war criminals. Yet, amidst these difficulties, we find reasons for hope, such as the recent ceasefire agreement between Israel and Lebanon, and the unwavering generosity and resilience of our JCF community.

At JCF, I have the extraordinary privilege of witnessing firsthand the power of chesed and tzedakah. Despite the challenges we face, you continue to generously support causes both locally and globally, making a profound difference in the lives of others.

Nothing exemplifies this generosity more than your impact this past year. I am pleased to share that this year, JCF donors granted over $1 billion to more than 11,000 organizations for the first time. We’ve seen a remarkable 54% increase in grants to Israeli organizations, demonstrating our community’s commitment to supporting those impacted by conflict and instability.

Your generosity extends far beyond Israel, reaching communities in need right here at home. One inspiring example is JCF Fundholder Adam Chill, who established The Bayit Association to provide Sabbath-observant housing for adults with disabilities. Adam’s story beautifully illustrates how JCF’s flexibility empowers donors to achieve their unique philanthropic goals. You can read the full story here

As darkness spills from our newsfeeds, the compassion and generosity of our JCF community shine brightly. Thank you for being a source of hope and inspiration.
