As the rapid spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues in the global community, and within the Jewish community, we want to update our Fundholders on the steps we have taken to ensure business continuity.

JCF is committed to ensuring the steady flow of much-needed charitable dollars to grantee organizations. Our highest priority is the well-being of our team, and community.

While the JCF physical office is closed due to coronavirus, our staff is available to answer any questions you might have about managing your fund online, and addressing philanthropic needs during this difficult time.

As you know, JCF has sophisticated technology in place and most of our Fundholders manage their grant-making seamlessly online. This technology will ensure that we will be able to continue processing grants, contributions and investment recommendations, although this may take longer than usual.

How you can help

Many in our community are wondering how we can help those who have been affected. While more opportunities will surely arise, we wanted to share with you information about a loan program Hebrew Free Loan Society has launched to help people weather the financial challenges created by quarantines, school closures, small business slowdowns, and other issues connected to coronavirus.

As you can imagine, for the neediest New Yorkers, several weeks without pay can lead to financial crises. HFLS’s Coronavirus Financial Impact Loan provides interest-free loans of up to $5,000 for those affected by the coronavirus who live in the five boroughs of New York City, in Westchester County, or on Long Island.

Please share this link with anyone you know who could benefit from this information. If you would like to support this initiative, you can recommend a grant to Hebrew Free Loan Society from your JCF fund.

In addition, the JCF Social Impact Loan Program offers the opportunity for JCF Fundholders to recommend that assets from their fund support HFLS’s interest-free loans, providing a financial safety net for those in need.
