January 27th marks International Holocaust Remembrance Day. To many people in our community, reflecting on the Holocaust feels more relevant now than ever. In addition to honoring the memories of the six million Jewish lives that were lost, we remember so that it never happens again. And yet, on October 7, 2023, the Jewish community faced violence once more. As the Jewish community mourned, philanthropists like you quickly took action to ensure that Never Again becomes a reality.

While many in the JCF community have family and friends on the frontlines in Gaza, most of us are finding other ways to support Israel and the battle against antisemitism in the diaspora. Philanthropy has been critical in addressing these issues and challenges, and you, as Jewish Communal fundholders, have played a vital role in this response. Your support for Israel is now over $55 million across over 500 organizations. Additionally, we are seeing increased grants to organizations supporting Jewish students on campus and fighting antisemitism.

Late last year, JCF, in partnership with Goodnation Philanthropy Advisors, introduced the JCF Security Smartfund. More information about the fund can be found HERE. A $1000 grant to this fund allows you to maximize your impact in support of work that safeguards the Jewish community and combats antisemitism in all its forms.*

As charitable giving needs evolve, the JCF staff consistently looks for new ways to support our fundholders’ philanthropic efforts. This commitment has led to some exciting changes to the JCF team:
– Michelle Lebowits promoted to VP of Philanthropic Services
– Igor Musayev promoted to VP of Investment Services
– Rachel Redlich promoted to Controller
– Leigh Wasserman joins as Director of Marketing Communication
– Matthew Hagen joins as Finance Associate
– Alyssa Tischler joins as Development Associate
